1967 SWB 912P (POLO). A 1 of 1 car.

I have more than 2000 plus hours of my time over the last 2 1/2 years putting this project together. I probably have 6 to 8 inches of receipts. The engine and engine management, (ecu, fuel injection, and ignition) alone was over $40,000.00. At sea level this car makes about 180 horsepower. A duel outlet sport muffler would probably get it very close to 200. For a picture of a dyno run, go to the toolbar click pictures of the 912 Polo car and scroll through the pictures at the bottom of the page. The 2.4 liter four cylinder 911 type engine is About 80 pounds lighter than a 6 in a car that probably weighs 2125 to 2150 pounds. It's making about SC/3.2 Carrera horsepower in a lighter car. This car is about the balance of power and handling.

There are 2 storage areas. One for the ecu and one for storage. I will add more as I have time. The foot well pans are almost perfect from the underside of the car. There is some metal flaking in the inside. I may replace them down the road but for now they are plenty strong. Very nice patina paint. Front drivers fender was replaced with a 68 fender maybe 20-25 years ago I'm guessing. The paint seems a perfect match as I didn't see it when I bought the car. 94,000 miles pre Polo, 7000 post. I like the patina. I built this car to be a awesome driver. This car runs like the wind. It's a great car that is currently 1 of 1 in the world and will ALWAYS be the first of it's kind. Since this car was published, there are 4 more in the works that I know of. Two in the US, one in Europe, and one in Hong Kong. What's next? Custom sport seats with my recliner? A second seat upper for the driver with much more support so I have touring and sport uppers? A set or recliners out of titanium? Carrera front suspension? Custom heat exchangers out of titanium? Pompolo wheels? Boxster brakes? Sport muffler? It should give another 10-15 hp. Maybe out of titanium? I have so many ideas. |
